Vehicle Repair Agreements do not need to be complicated – Here's how we do it

Making a claim under your Vehicle Repair Agreement has never been easier.

Just follow the steps laid out below.

You can also report a potential claim to us using the below contact form.

Should you have any questions or concerns about the claims process, please do not hesitate to contact us on 0800 404 5814 or at claims@bluechipwarranty.co.uk.

All calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

Please note that the correct claim procedure must be followed. Bluechip Warranty must be contacted and supplied with an estimate prior to any work being undertaken. All claims and/or repairs must be authorised before any repair work is commenced; failure to do so will result in the claim being declined.

How do I make a claim?

In the event of you experiencing a fault with your vehicle, please take your vehicle to a VAT registered repairer for the fault to be diagnosed.

Once your chosen repairer has identified a mechanical or electrical failure (along with an explanation of the cause of failure), we will require an itemised estimate to be submitted, which includes parts, labour, VAT costs, and current mileage.

This estimate should then be submitted to us at claims@bluechipwarranty.co.uk or via the claims form below.

We will then assess the claim details supplied and advise if you have a valid claim.

No work should commence until an authorisation code has been issued.

If you have a valid claim, an authorisation certificate (with a unique authorisation code) will be emailed to the vehicle repairer and/or customer.

Once you open a claim, you will have a maximum of 60 days, or up to the expiry date of your vehicle repair agreement (whichever is sooner), to comply with and complete the claims process.

If you have elected to have your vehicle repaired at a main dealer, you will be responsible for any additional parts and labour costs.

Please refer to your Vehicle Repair Agreement booklet and relevant supporting documentation for further information.

Please submit the repair invoice to Bluechip Warranty for payment.

Please ensure you clearly state the authorisation code, repairer details, and payee details (account holder's name, sort code, and account number) on the invoice.

Claims payments are processed on a weekly basis (Friday), subject to documentation being received by 1 p.m. by the prior Thursday. Please allow 2-3 days for the funds to reach your account.

Frequently Asked Questions About Submitting a Claim

Do I need to service my vehicle to keep my Vehicle Repair Agreement valid?

Yes - You are responsible for ensuring that your vehicle is serviced and/or maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Failure to do so will invalidate your Vehicle Repair Agreement.

What does my Vehicle Repair Agreement cover?

This repair agreement provides you with a repair benefit solely and specifically for those items as listed within your repair agreement booklet and your cover level, for a sudden and unforeseen mechanical or electrical failure or breakage, causing the sudden stoppage of the component's function.

Is there a limit on how many claims I can make?

You can have multiple claims up to the value of your vehicle repair agreements claim limit. The maximum aggregate claim value payable under this vehicle repair agreement will be limited to the current market value of the vehicle.

What is the maximum labour rate the agreement pays?

Maximum of £60.00 per hour, inclusive of VAT (labour is only payable subject to a valid claim).

I have broken down. How do I contact the recovery company?

Check if you have our Bluechip Assist; this information can be found on your Vehicle Repair Agreement certificate. If you do have Bluechip Assist, please call 0800 302 9462 and quote your Vehicle Registration. Please note, this is not automatically included with your vehicle repair agreement. This applies to UK breakdown cover only.

Can I choose my own repairer?

Yes, you can go to any VAT registered repairer of your choosing.

Does the repairer need to be VAT Registered?

We prefer repairers to be VAT registered, as this ensures that everything is traceable. However, you can go to a non-VAT registered repairer at your own risk.

Can I go to a main dealer?

This is a used vehicle warranty, not a main dealer warranty. If you choose to have your vehicle repaired at a main dealer, this agreement will not cover main dealer parts and labour costs. You will therefore be responsible for any additional parts and labour costs that fall outside the parameters of this agreement.

I need my vehicle; can I have the repairs completed prior to authorisation from Bluechip Warranty Ltd.?

No. The terms of this agreement must be followed. Bluechip Warranty must be contacted / supplied with an estimate prior to any work being undertaken. All claims / repairs must be authorised before completion; failure to do so will result in the claim being declined.

What is a maximum claim limit?

This is the maximum amount that can be claimed on any one claim if the liability of the agreement allows. All specified maximum claim limits stated on your certificate and listed in the vehicle repair agreement booklet will include parts, labour, diagnosis, consumables, recovery, car hire, VAT, and any other additional benefits which are specific to your cover level.
